In the tranquil village nestled within the valley, a solemn tradition dictated that once a person reached the age of 70, they must bid farewell to their homes and embark on a journey to a sacred mountain peak to meet their final destiny. To defy this age-old custom would bring shame upon their family name. With just one year left until her inevitable journey to the mountain, Old Orin, at the age of 69, had one final duty to fulfill - to ensure that her eldest son, Tatsuhei, found a suitable wife to carry on the family lineage before she too must make the journey to the mountain top.
