The Argentinean revolution, initiated by Che Guevara and a group of Cuban exiles under the command of Fidel Castro, commenced in 1956 with their daring landing on the Cuban shore from Mexico. Over the course of two tumultuous years, they managed to galvanize the people, establish a formidable army, and successfully overthrow the oppressive regime of dictator Fulgencio Batista, who was known for his close ties with the United States.
