Adèle Hugo, the daughter of the famous French novelist Victor Hugo, finds herself captivated by the charm of the British soldier Albert Pinson during her time in exile on the shores of England. Despite his rejection of her love, Adèle's heart remains steadfastly devoted to him. Determined to hold on to her unrequited passion, she decides to embark on a journey to Nova Scotia, where she assumes the identity of Adèle Lewly.
